Terms of Service

Welcome to MicroLearn. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MicroLearn mobile application ("MicroLearn", "Service", "App"). By downloading, creating an account, or otherwise using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Parties and Acceptance

These Terms are entered into between Sena Sümeyye Berber (operating under the brand name "MicroLearn Studios"; "Developer", "we", "us") and the person using the Service ("User", "you").

MicroLearn is developed and operated by an independent individual developer under the brand name "MicroLearn Studios" — not by a registered company or legal entity. The Google Play Console publisher account is also an individual account.

2. Description of the Service

MicroLearn is a mobile learning app that helps users build knowledge across various topics (science, history, sports, language, coding, nature, etc.) through short information cards and related quiz questions. The Service may include:

• A daily reading streak, badge, and level system;
• An in-app virtual currency ("Coin") and a store where Coin can be spent (avatars, frames, streak freezes, and other cosmetic/functional items);
• Daily login rewards;
• Optional sign-in with your Google Account and cloud backup;
• Statistics on your reading and quiz performance;
• Advertisements displayed through Google AdMob;
• Optional in-app purchases processed through Google Play Billing.

The scope of the Service may change, expand, or be reduced over time without prior notice — MicroLearn is an actively developed, evolving project.

3. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 are encouraged to use the Service with the awareness of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Account and Google Sign-In

4.1. Core features of the Service can be used without creating an account. To sync your progress across devices, you may optionally sign in with your Google Account.

4.2. When you sign in with Google, we only receive the basic information necessary to create your account (name, email, profile picture). We do not have access to your Google password.

4.3. You are responsible for the security of your account, including your device and Google Account security.

4.4. You may delete your account at any time through in-app settings or via our Delete Account page.

5. Virtual Currency ("Coin") and In-App Rewards

5.1. Coin can be earned for free through in-app activity (reading cards, completing quizzes, maintaining a streak, etc.), and can also be purchased with real money through Google Play Billing.

5.2. Coin and virtual items acquired with Coin (avatars, frames, etc.):

• Have no monetary value on their own, even if purchased with real money;
• Cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, sold, or exchanged outside the App;
• Can only be used within MicroLearn;
• Grant you a limited right of use only, not ownership.

5.3. We reserve the right to change earning rates, store contents, prices, and the reward system at any time.

5.4. If your account is deleted, your right to use accumulated or purchased Coin and virtual items ends as well; this alone does not create a right to a refund (see Section 6.5).

5.5. Random elements within the reward cycle (e.g., winning a random avatar through the daily reward) do not constitute gambling; no additional payment is required to participate in these elements, and items won cannot be converted to cash.

6. In-App Purchases

6.1. MicroLearn may offer optional in-app purchases, such as Coin packages and/or other premium content.

6.2. All payments are securely processed through Google Play Billing. We never see, process, or store your credit card or payment information; this data is handled directly by Google's secure systems.

6.3. Prices are displayed on the Google Play Store and may vary by your country or region; they may include applicable taxes.

6.4. Once a purchase is completed, the corresponding virtual item (Coin, premium content, etc.) is credited to your account. If a transaction does not complete correctly, please contact us at microlearn.official@gmail.com.

6.5. Refund policy: Because in-app purchases are digital virtual content made available immediately upon purchase, they are generally non-refundable. For refund requests, please first review Google Play's own refund policy and the refund window it offers from the date of purchase; refunds are handled through Google Play. Depending on your jurisdiction, digital content delivered immediately upon purchase may be exempt from standard withdrawal/cancellation rights under applicable consumer protection law.

6.6. Users under 18 must have parental/guardian consent, and any available parental control settings on the device should be enabled, before making in-app purchases.

7. Advertising

7.1. MicroLearn may display advertisements through Google AdMob. These ads help support the continued development of the App and keep many features free.

7.2. AdMob may use data such as your advertising identifier and device information to show you more relevant ads. Details on how this data is processed are available in our Privacy Policy.

7.3. To opt out of personalized ads, you can use your device's ad settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads).

7.4. Ad content is provided by third-party advertisers; we are not responsible for the accuracy of that content or for any products/services offered by advertisers.

8. User Conduct

While using the Service, you agree not to:

• Interfere with the operation of the App or attempt to reverse-engineer it;
• Use cheats, bots, or similar methods to gain an unfair advantage or virtual currency;
• Attempt unauthorized access to our server infrastructure;
• Enter unlawful, defamatory, or rights-infringing content into fields such as your profile name or photo;
• Use the App for a commercial purpose outside its intended use.

Violation of these rules may result in your account being suspended or terminated without prior notice.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1. The MicroLearn name, logo, app interface, original content, and software code belong to us and are protected under applicable intellectual property law.

9.2. You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This license does not grant you any ownership interest in the Service.

9.3. The Service includes icons, avatars, and animations sourced from various third-party providers. Their sources and license details are listed in the "About" section of the App; copyright in that content belongs to the respective third-party providers.

10. User-Submitted Content

By uploading content such as a profile photo, you confirm it complies with applicable law and does not infringe the rights of others. This content is only associated with your account and is not used for any other purpose.

11. Privacy

How your personal data is collected and used is described separately in our Privacy Policy. By accepting these Terms, you also accept the Privacy Policy.

12. Modification and Termination of the Service

12.1. We reserve the right to modify, temporarily suspend, or permanently discontinue all or part of the Service.

12.2. If we determine that you have violated these Terms, we may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice.

12.3. You may delete your account yourself at any time.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

13.1. The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free — MicroLearn is a small, independently developed project and occasional issues may occur.

13.2. Educational content within the App is intended for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional or academic advice. While reasonable care is taken to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee the content is error-free.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from your use of the Service. If any liability does arise, its total amount shall not exceed the total amount you paid to MicroLearn (via Google Play Billing) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; if no payment was made, our liability is limited to zero.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be announced within the App. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts and enforcement offices of the Republic of Türkiye.
